Progress of construction work

Together with the renowned Wels-based architects' office PAUAT, at its Wels site Fronius is constructing a building in active energy design. Using the most up-to-date environmental technology, the building generates more energy than it consumes. In Wels, environmentally friendly construction is being made visible on an industrial scale.

Opening Units 1, 2 and 7: historic brick building, car park and skywalk

Fronius has changed dramatically over the past few years – and the operating sites of the company are no exception. The most recent example is the premises in Wels city centre, located on the former site of an agricultural machinery factory. The plot, owned by Fronius since 1990, has been undergoing regeneration. These include an historic brick building dating from the 1900s, the new car park and the skywalk, which links the different buildings together and acts as a communications centre.

Hell und freundlich - so ist es und wird es in Wels

The Automation section moved into its new offices at the end of April. Large windows, skylights and a lighting profile spanning two storeys completely fill the space with bright, natural light. The modern, comfortable and pleasantly noise-free working environment is another impressive feature. The new Automation premises give us a tantalising glimpse into the design of the future offices at the new international sales centre in Wels.

The insulation measures implemented in the Fronius building on Fronius-Straße in Wels are already having an effect. The second floor, where the interior finishing work is being carried out, is heated by the first floor. The facade is insulated on the inside and the windows are triple-glazed. 50 cm of ecological insulation is planned for the roof. Excavation work has also begun on the underground car park.

Fronius opens works canteen.

06.10.2007

The area purchased by Fronius near the Wels railway station in 1988 extends to 17,000 m². This site is now being developed according to the modern requirements of an international distribution centre for all three Fronius divisions. More than 300 employees will have their workplaces here by 2010. By then, the new sales location will have received a facelift and will serve as the company´s "visiting card" for guests from Austria and all over the world. With the opening of the works canteen with seating for 130, Fronius has completed the first building stage.
