Amitec / More manufacturer approvals for Fronius battery charging systems

With renewed 'licence to charge' in Leipzig

10.03.2011

Easy to use, technically safe and reliable quality – the three phrases that best describe battery charging systems from Fronius International GmbH. Worldwide approval of the Acctiva Professional Flash from Land Rover and Jaguar serves to reaffirm this status. Anyone wishing to gain an insight into quicker, more powerful and safer battery charging technology will have the opportunity to do so at this year's Amitec fair (between April 9th and 13th 2011). The various Fronius charging systems for showrooms and everyday use in the workshop can be examined on the Förch stand (C 10 in hall 4).

Battery charging during servicing and a reliable power supply when diagnosing and updating vehicle software are playing an ever-increasing role in the workshop. These developments have meant that the battery charging system is now a vital tool in the workshop, which in turn has resulted in greater technical requirements being placed on them. At Amitec in Leipzig, Fronius will display its portfolio of battery charging system products for showrooms and workshops.

Acctiva Professional Flash

Following numerous approvals from other automobile manufacturers, Fronius has now also obtained worldwide workshop approval from Jaguar and Land Rover for the Acctiva Professional Flash battery charging system. The 70 A Acctiva Professional Flash not only ensures fast charging during servicing, but also a reliable power supply during diagnosis work and the updating of vehicle software. Even deep-discharge batteries can be reactivated using refresh mode. Using Fronius Active Inverter Technology means that batteries are quickly supplied with energy in a controlled, gentle and safe manner, so that even flat batteries are charged again in just a few minutes. And the system is not just a charging device - it can also test the current input. The I-Check carries out a 10-minute test that shows whether the battery is faulty or still functioning. The integrated USB interface provides total forward compatibility regarding future software updates. Land Rover and Jaguar have approved the device for diagnosis work and the flashing of software updates.

Acctiva Professional 35A

The new Acctiva Professional 35A battery charging system will also make its debut in Leipzig. Whether using 6 V, 12 V or 24 V batteries, the device guarantees a continuous output of 35 amperes, making it an indispensable allround battery charging system for workshop servicing activities and vehicle diagnosis, and the flashing of software updates. When in buffering (trickle) mode, the professional battery charging system supplies parallel consumers with energy during diagnosis and software updates. A back-up mode ensures that the user settings saved in the vehicle are retained when a battery is changed. Power Supply mode guarantees a power supply to the vehicle without any support from the battery and refresh mode regenerates deep-discharge batteries. Variable plug-in charging and mains cables, high-quality terminals and a clear, animated display for all functions are proof of the unparalleled user-friendliness of this 100% electronically safe device. The ability to carry out software updates via the integrated USB interface means that Acctiva Professional 35A is always right up-to-date – even if the charging specifications of the automobile manufacturer change – thus safeguarding your "Made by Fronius" investment.

Other solutions

Two further solutions complete the Leipzig presentation. The Acctiva Seller is designed specifically for exhibits in showrooms and at trade fairs. This 30 A device provides a reliable power supply during vehicle presentations and when handing over new cars to customers. Specially developed software prevents the device entering charge and discharge cycles in back-up mode, sparing the vehicle starter battery. The device can only be operated using its single Start/Stop button. Furthermore, the powerful Seller is so small that it can be kept under the vehicle or in the engine compartment, in other words out of sight of the customer.

Acctiva Easy 1206

The red Acctiva Easy 1206 plug-in charger and tester is the size of a small plate, but is capable of much more than just electronically-controlled charging. The device also tests voltage, the startability of the battery and the generator. A microprocessor controls the charging process and monitors all device functions. The plug-in charger and tester can be charged via the charging terminals, or optionally with the OBD-2 plug or cigarette lighter. Once fully charged, the charger automatically switches over to conservation charging in order to avoid self-discharge of the battery. Modern safety functions – such as electronic reverse polarity protection, thermal overload protection and safety cut-outs – mean the charger can be connected to the battery for longer periods without any problems.
