DC-Isolating Box for FRONIUS IG 40 & 60

The isolating box is now available not only for the “small” FRONIUS IG inverters (15/20/30) but also for the “big” inverters FRONIUS IG 40 and 60 for higher power classes with the intelligent MIX-Concept.

As the name already says, the DC isolating box has been designed to bring the inverters FRONIUS IG 40 and 60 to zero potential. This box is suitable for a maximum open-circuit voltage of up to 500 V DC. This characteristic is necessary when giving maintenance to the inverter.

The box can be used to join up to 8 solar module strings on the input side and exit with only two main cables directly to the inverter, one DC+ and one DC-.

As the FRONIUS IG inverters already have an integrated over voltage protection on the DC side, there is no need for extra over voltage limiters in the DC isolating box.

Each of the 8 module strings is equipped with a fuse. It is possible to use commercial DC fuses 10x38 mm. The isolating box has standard 20A fuses, which can be exchanged according to the individual requirements. In some countries it is necessary due to technical norms to use string fuses. Moreover, some module distributors recommend to use such fuses from a certain number of strings on.
