Fronius expands its operations on the American continent With its new subsidiaries in Monterrey and Mexico City, Mexico (opening on July 1st) and in Mississauga, Canada (opening on October 1st), Fronius is in an excellent position to operate throughout the entire continent. 27.06.2008
Fronius welding technology for the Expo 2008 bridge Between June 14th and September 16th 2008, the city of Zaragoza in northern Spain will host the Expo world exhibition. The exhibition’s theme of "Water and Sustainable Development" is generating a great deal of interest around the world. Its symbol is the 275 m long River Ebro bridge, which contains 5,500,000 kg of steel. Fronius welding systems were chosen for the welding work. 19.06.2008

And the winner is… CMT (Cold-Metal-Transfer) INDUSTRIE 2008, France’s largest welding trade fair took place between the 31st March and the 4th April at the Centre d’Expositions in Paris. The highlight of the fair was receiving the INDUSTRIE trophy as an award for special innovations. The jury selected the CMT-process by Fronius as the winner, due to the innovative joining of steel with aluminium. 13.05.2008

Fronius Welding Education setting successful standards Since the new sales structure in Welding Technology and the associated introduction of process experts took effect, both of which contribute to swift action and reaction in the various Fronius markets, the Welding Education department has become more important and ambitious than ever. 17.01.2008

TP 09 – compact and always in the mix The remote control TP09 is comparable in both size and weight to a mobile phone. But it only has three buttons. Five QAS teams already in action for Fronius Fast and competent local customer support on a global scale is not exactly simple to achieve, but it is indispensable for the success of a company. In 2004 Fronius began to take up this challenge even more intensively with the establishment of an international welding competence network for the automotive industry consisting of qualified automotive supplier teams. 12.10.2007

CMT conquers China Yíng! A warm (welcome!) was extended to visitors to this year’s "Beijing Essen Welding & Cutting" trade fair, which was held for the first time in Shanghai from the 19th to the 22nd June. Despite numerous other exhibitors, Fronius’s sensational CMT (cold metal transfer) technology again enabled them to be the centre of attention, even in the "Middle Kingdom" of China. 30.08.2007

The Landcruiser Experiment celebrates halftime “Once it’s going, it can’t be stopped.” That is the motto of Peer Heineken and his “Landcruiser Experiment” project in Berlin. The goal of this auto repair layman is to completely restore his vintage Toyota Landcruiser. He has been painstakingly documenting progress in an entertaining and informative Internet journal, and now that he’s half-way finished he is celebrating with a contest. 19.07.2007

New building for Fronius Salzburg The sales office in Salzburg (Austria) simply is radiating in its new splendour. The building was renovated over the last year, given a new facade of glass and equipped with solar panels. 08.07.2007
A bridge between nations The Czech Republic has been a European Union member state since 2004. Work on linking the country to the European highway network is proceeding apace. A prime example is the A17/D8 motorway on the German and Czech sides. A vital section of this project is the 430 m long bridge across the “Schönwalder Bach”, the river forming the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. The welding work for the steel construction was carried out with the VarioSynergic 5000-2 welding system. 25.05.2007

Perfect interplay Purem Abgassysteme GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures catalytic converter systems for the diesel engines of heavy commercial vehicles at its facility in Unna, Germany. As necessitated by their cleansing function, the corrosion-resistant stainless steel cat housings have to be joined together in such a way that they are perfectly gastight. For this, the CMT (Cold Metal Transfer) process from Fronius is used. 04.01.2007
Perfect interplay
Practical experience beats the textbook Copper and its alloys, especially in large slabs, have to be preheated before welding. At least that’s what the textbooks and instructors say about this highly heat-conductive material. But welding engineer Martin Poberer at voestalpine Stahl (Austria) refutes that point based on practical experience: The specialists in Linz, Austria, weld copper, bronze and brass without preheating. In 2005, Fronius launched several innovative welding solutions, thereby extending its cutting-edge product portfolio. Constant Improvements are a Given Whale Tankers, near the English city of Birmingham, is one of the largest manufacturers of liquid and waste water tanker trucks in Europe. For years now, TPS-Fronius Ltd. has been supplying the company with modern welding systems for tank production. 28.08.2006
New: DeltaSpot Spooling process tapes, instead of wear-and-tear on the electrode. This is what characterises this radically new system of robot welding tongs for resistance spot-welding. The process tapes of the DeltaSpot resistance spotwelding method protect the electrodes and the materials to be joined, prevent spatter, and generally lay down new quality standards. 18.08.2006
