Fronius IG Plus – improved and adapted to meet BDEW requirements

14.04.2010

Fronius IG Plus devices will be ready to meet the requirements of the new Medium Voltage Directive of the BDEW (German Association of Energy and Water Industries) which goes into effect on July 1, 2010. This upgrade will also include several improvements to the inverter series.

The following improvements, among others, are being added to Fronius IG Plus inverters:

  • The protection class has been increased from IP 44 to IP 54. This provides even better protection to the Fronius IG Plus from environmental conditions.
  • The DC disconnect is now located on the outside of the device. The connection area no longer has to be opened to suspend the inverter from feeding-in.
  • A simple mounting plate connection now makes wall installation for the "large" Fronius IG Plus 120/150 device much easier.

The multi-level conversion of the device series will be completed by the beginning of June. The improved Fronius IG Plus will then be available in Germany.
