Contec (Contact technology)
With Contec contacting technology, Fronius has for the first time succeeded in passing welding energy through the welding wire consistently and reproducibly - and also over the entire service life of the contact tube. The unusually high process stability results in excellent weld properties, fewer welding errors and less reworking, due to the lack of welding spatter. At the same time, contact tube service life was dramatically increased - up to five times for steel applications and up to seven times for aluminium applications. Cost-efficient welding entered a new dimension as a longer service life means a much lower chance of system failure and fewer downtimes needed to replace wearing parts.
