Fronius honoured in London
15.11.2006
The 2006 Frost & Sullivan Welding Technology of the Year Award was presented to Fronius in London on 21st September. In 2005, Fronius launched several innovative welding solutions, thereby extending its cutting-edge product portfolio. Its revolutionary cold metal transfer (CMT) technology and DeltaSpot resistance welding system successfully resolved several long-standing engineering problems in the welding industry.
Joining steel to aluminium had always been seen as an unattainable goal. The CMT process developed by Fronius now enables these two different materials to be permanently joined without any problems. The CMT process has proven to be extremely suitable for welding a diverse set of metals, particularly different grades and strengths of steel.
In developing the DeltaSpot resistance welding system, Fronius has brought dynamism and new solutions to traditional spot welding. The outstanding feature of DeltaSpot is the spooling process tape. It protects the electrodes and guarantees consistently high quality and 100% repeatability of the welding points.
With CMT and DeltaSpot, Fronius is setting new standards in welding technology. In the automobile industry in particular, both welding processes have opened up previously undreamt of application opportunities.
Frost & Sullivan’s Technology of the Year Award is bestowed upon a company that has introduced an innovative technology into the market.
