CeMAT innovation forum with Fronius
30.04.2010
This year's German Material Flow conference included a CeMAT innovation forum featuring a range of interesting short presentations from a wide range of companies. Fronius looked once again at the Total Cost of Ownership and demonstrated the potential savings available using modern charging technology.
The annual German Material Flow conference organised by the VDI (Association of German Engineers) was held this year at the TU Munich and was dominated by the question "Which logistics concept will help me out of the crisis?" This year's event included for the first time a CeMAT innovation forum that looked forward to the next CeMAT fair, which is being held in Hanover at the beginning of May 2011.
The innovation forum consisted of short presentations from a wide range of companies on a broad range of topics – for example, logistics companies BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann and BEUMER Maschinenfabrik were at the event.
The Battery Charging Systems division also used the opportunity to give a presentation that highlighted the operating costs of batteries within companies. Jürgen Donner, Sales & Marketing Director for Fronius Germany, examined the potential energy cost savings available using Fronius Active Inverter Technology. Using practical examples from industry, he demonstrated just how quickly a battery can pay for itself through lower energy costs.
The event concluded with the award of the VDI Innovation Prize for logistics, which Fronius won this year for its HyLOG project – click here and read more about this Innovation Prize .
