Fronius opens subsidiary in Istanbul

Fronius has taken another step towards globalisation by setting up a subsidiary in one of the world's booming business centres. Since November 1st, Fronius Istanbul has been represented in the welding market, where it aims to gain a foothold with its technological superiority and high quality.

Back in 2008, Fronius set up an agency to put out feelers in Turkey and over the past two years has made a name for itself in the welding technology sector. As this market has enormous potential, technology leader Fronius decided to establish a subsidiary. The site chosen was the industrial district of Tuzla, which is near the port.

The Fronius Istanbul team currently consists of eleven people. Nusret Bilen, who has been working for Fronius for four years, manages the team: "I'm looking forward to my new challenge and feel very positive about the future. The decision to set up a subsidiary is supported by the feedback from the Turkish market. With our six specialist dealers and two sales and service partner teams in Istanbul and Bursa, we are very well placed and can provide our customers with high-quality, innovative welding technology and a professional service. Istanbul has become the business and industrial centre of Turkey over the past few years. International investors have transformed the "gateway to the East" into a cosmopolitan city. Fronius sees opportunities among the well-known and globally active automobile and component supply companies based in Istanbul, robot system integrators, and in rapidly developing sectors such as shipbuilding and power station construction.
