weld+vision Nr. 17 - Opposites
09.10.2006
The current issue of weld+vision – the magazine for our customers and sales partners – this time with topics around “Opposites”. Available now!
“Opposites” is a tension-charged topic. In more ways than one. For wherever you have two poles, there’ll be tension – of one sort or another – between them. Tension is an essential driving force. Be it in a relationship, in enterprises, in society or within oneself – it’s always about reconciling opposites. At the same time, there are extremes which – by their very nature – belong together in any case and have always been just two sides of one and the same coin. For there is no day without night, no wet without dry, no up without down. But better to read the cover story for yourself, as this goes into the topic in more depth. “Opposites” is the subject of a number of other articles in this edition of weld+vision, too. The one about two recent product innovations, for instance: Two systems which at first sight couldn’t be more “opposite” if they tried – one that joins things together, another that cuts them apart.
Look a bit closer, though, and they’re both just two sides of the same coin again, the coin in question being called “technology”. Klaus Fronius, too, has thought a lot about “opposites” and contrariety in interpersonal relationships. He reckons it is a fine art to affirm opposites and to approach them in a spirit of fairness. And last but not least, this issue’s travel tip will take us to a country that is full to the brim with thrilling contrasts. Have a good read!
