New apprentices in 2011

10.11.2011

Just as in 2010, 38 new apprentices started their professional training at Fronius this year. For the first time, more young women than men were taken on.

The trend towards women in technical traineeships is continuing in 2011: "We have recruited a total of 13 female trainees for technical roles, including the first ever girl. She got a taste of what an apprenticeship could offer at a Fronius "Girl's Day" event, which awakened her interest in technical professions. We are also currently training a female mechatronic apprentice – although the last one we had at Fronius was a good few years ago," explains Rudi Eitelsebner, who is responsible for apprentice training in the Human Resources department. Electronic engineers are again the largest group of trainees this year, followed by administrative and commercial apprentices and "chip removal technology" metallurgy specialists. Fronius is currently training 144 apprentices in twelve different careers.

We wish all new Fronius apprentices every success in their training!
