Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) – (MIG/MAG)
Shielded Inert Gas Metal Arc (MIG) and Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding are the most common welding processes in use today. Fronius was the first welding system manufacturer in the world to digitise its MIG/MAG systems with the TransPuls Synergic and TransSynergic ranges. CMT (Cold Metal Transfer) constituted another revolutionary step. The wire movement was incorporated into the process control, whereby heat is inserted only very briefly. Material transfer takes place with barely any flow of current. As a result, weld joints such as steel to aluminium became a reality.
