Intersolar 2011: Fronius pulls in the crowds
15.06.2011
June 8th to 10th saw the return of the most important trade fair in the solar industry calendar, the Intersolar, taking place in Munich. Once again the Fronius stand really pulled in the crowds on each of the three days. A 736 m² stand provided the perfect platform for an impressive array of the latest innovations and an extensive range of products. Visitors to the Fronius stand were also able to experience the company's new brand image. Decked out in the new Corporate Design, Fronius greeted its guests with the message "Shifting the limits".
The Intersolar hosted the unveiling of the new three-phase Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 inverter with 8 kW output power. This device satisfies the latest market requirements and further enhances the successful Fronius IG Plus series. The new inverter stands out thanks to its reactive power provision, three-phase feed-in and dynamic grid backup, ensuring problem-free integration into the mains, even in regions with a large number of PV systems. Naturally these are in addition to all the standard benefits offered by the proven Fronius IG Plus family.
The new Fronius Solar.web app is an innovative solution developed by Fronius that enables data to be retrieved from private PV systems across the world using a smartphone. Optimised for smartphones, this version of the Fronius Solar.web online system monitoring portal is available for both Apple and Android products, and therefore covers a large target audience.
Energy management is becoming increasingly important. Feed-in tariffs and private consumption are being discussed on a daily basis. Against this backdrop, Fronius has been devoting its energies as a quality leader to developing a suitable solution: the energy management function for Fronius IG Plus and Fronius CL inverters enables system operators to use more of the PV energy that they produce.
The energy management function will be available to European customers from October 2011.
The Fronius arc detector was a real highlight at Intersolar 2011. This is a new device to ensure that safety standards for PV systems are always maintained. The Fronius arc detector automatically disconnects an inverter from the mains if a serial arc forms. This protection device is scheduled to go into series production in 2012.
Another first for Fronius saw an inverter PC board being replaced live on the stand. As part of the Fronius Service Partner programme, Fronius has positioned itself as the only manufacturer that allows trained installers to replace inverter PC boards in situ during standard servicing. This unparalleled offering makes the programme especially attractive, so it was not surprising that visitors were deeply interested in the PC board replacement concept itself, as well as the overall Fronius Service Partner programme.
