Major strides in internationalisation
03.03.2011
The international importance of photovoltaics is growing all the time. As a result, the national requirement for intensive, market-specific support is also increasing, which is why Fronius will continue its strong international focus on solar electronics in 2011. The company opened seven new international subsidiaries in 2010 alone. Since last year, the quality leader has added offices in Australia, Great Britain, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, and Slovakia to its solar family.
With its 13 subsidiaries, numerous sales partners and representatives, the quality leader in the field of solar electronics is now represented in more than 60 countries worldwide.
Fronius Australia opened in Melbourne in October 2010. Twelve sales and service employees from the Solar Electronics division are working to develop and strengthen the Fronius brand.
Fronius UK has been in business since February last year and has a highly committed team. Monthly sales seminars and Fronius Service Partner courses are planned for 2011. A national repair centre will also open this year to strengthen Fronius in its position as market leader in the UK.
Fronius Istanbul is the youngest of the subsidiaries founded in 2010. The PV market in Turkey is still in its infancy, but since November last year, the team has been working hard to develop it.
The Solar Electronics division also started business in the already established Fronius Canada Ltd. in 2010. From March 2011, Fronius will manufacture the Fronius IG Plus inverter.
A Fronius solar energy subsidiary also started up operations in Mexico in 2010. A six-strong Fronius team currently looks after sales and after-sales service activities.
Fronius Schweiz AG has been operating out of Rümlang in the canton of Zurich since 1992. The Solar Electronics division has also been active in Switzerland since November 2010, as the 2011 forecast for the Swiss market is very good.
On January 1st 2010, the Solar Electronics division started work at its Slovakian subsidiary, Fronius Slovensko s.r.o. in Trnava, north-east of Bratislava. A team of four currently looks after sales and the development of the turbulent market.
"Having a subsidiary in the country concerned enables us to focus much more intensively on the local market. It also enables us to better address the specific requirements of that particular country", is how sales managers Franz Dietachmair and Hannes Wendeler explain the benefits of establishing a local presence by setting up new subsidiaries.
