Upper Austria solar rally with Fronius
Organised by the Upper Austrian Climate Alliance and the state of Upper Austria, the solar rally held this year passed right across the region. The main theme was raising awareness of E-mobility and demonstrating to visitors that mobility with electricity really is suited to everyday use. Fronius was also in attendance.
The three-day event was open to any users of electric transport and all manner of vehicles were on display, such as electric bikes, cars and scooters.
Fronius represented E-mobility with the new Mitsubishi I-MiEV.
The rally trail extended from Linz through Kematen an der Krems and on to Wels, where participants could visit the new Welios science centre. On the next day, the team left Thalheim and made their way to Eberstallzell for a tour of the solar campus there. After passing through Bad Wimsbach and Ungenach, they ended their second day in Attnang Puchheim, where a climate and cultural event was held in the evening. On the third day, a look round the "E-mobility" exhibition was followed by the tour continuing on to Vorchdorf and Steinbach am Ziehberg. The solar rally was brought to a close in the town of Klaus, where the Climate Alliance municipal plaque was handed to Klaus and the film "The 4th Revolution" was shown.
Overall, it was a very interesting and positive event and helped raise the profile of E-mobility with a great many people at the different stop-off points along its trail.
