Fronius IG Plus

How long is the warranty period for a Fronius IG Plus?
All inverters of the Fronius IG Plus series have a warranty period of 5 years. This can be extended to 10 years.

Does a negative phase sequence current >4.6 kVA occur when using several multiphase Fronius IG Plus inverters?
The Fronius IG Plus offers the possibility of changing its operation from MIX-MODE to BALANCE-MODE.
When MIX-MODE is active, only the number of power modules required for the current irradiance operate. When BALANCE-MODE is active, all power modules operate simultaneously.

How is the inverter connected?
The DC and AC cabling is connected through screw terminals in the Fronius IG Plus. A max. cross section of 16 mm² can be connected to the DC terminals, and a max. cross section of 25 mm² can be connected to the AC terminals.

How are more than 6 strings connected to the Fronius IG Plus?
With the use of the Fronius Connection Kit, a cross section of up to 70 mm² can be connected. A connection box combines the module strings. From this box only 1 connection string is then led to the inverter.

How is the module grounding realized?
The module grounding is activated by inserting the module ground fuse in the connection area.
In addition, the module grounding must be activated in the inverter's display. The modules can be grounded at the negative pole or the positive pole.

What AC fuse is used if one more inverter is connected to a phase because of the dimensioning of the PV system?
In this case, one fuse is used for each phase and is dimensioned according to the amperage on that mains power line.

How do I know if my inverter is operating?
Units of the Fronius IG Plus series have a self-diagnosis system that outputs a status code on the display in the format "STATE XXX" in the event of an error. A list of all the codes that can occur during operation can be found in the operating instruction.
If everything is working correctly, the display provides information about all important system data.

Can power modules of different types can be exchanged?
In principle, the power modules can be exchanged.
If a larger power module is installed on a small connection area error code 512 is displayed.
If a larger power module is installed on a small connection area error code 514 is displayed.

My inverter is displaying status code "STATE 516"
This code indicates that an error occured more than 50 times a day. This code is displayed more often in winter („POWER LOW“ or „DC LOW“ e.g., because of snow-covered modules). The menu item "State PS“ in the setup provides detailed information in this case. The last error that triggered the code „STATE 516“ is displayed there.
To check what error last occured, press "Enter" to acknowledge the error 516.
The unit will automatically jump to the "STATE PS" menu, where you can read the last message.
