New 3-phase Fronius IG Plus is launched
31.05.2011
It is becoming ever more difficult to integrate single-phase PV systems into the electrical mains supply, particularly in countries with a large number of PV systems. Consequently, there is growing demand for sub-10 KW three-phase inverters that are able to evenly feed in power over all phases of the conventional three-phase mains connection in private households. The new Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 satisfies these requirements and boasts impressive additional benefits.
With an output power of 8 kW and an ability to feed into the mains supply over three phases, the new Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 perfectly meets the ever more vocal requirements of grid operators.
As with the other inverters in the Fronius IG Plus series, the new Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 also features proven benefits such as:
- Fronius MIX™ concept
- HF transformer switchover
- Fronius Module Manager
- etc.
In addition, the properties of the new Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 allow it to play an active role in grid management:
- Reactive power provision: As feeding in pure effective power at midday with no current collectors can cause instability in the mains, some countries are already demanding that reactive power is fed in. By providing this type of power, the inverter tries to keep the electrical mains supply within the required voltage limits.
- Three-phase feed-in: The inverter can feed into three-phase alternating current mains supplies without generating phase-load imbalances.
- Dynamic grid backup: Subject to strict regulations, inverters must also continue to feed electricity into the grid even when the grid voltage is outside the country-specific setup limits. The Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 makes its contribution to the grid backup with this feature.
The new Fronius IG Plus 100 V-3 will be unveiled at Intersolar, which will take place between June 8th and 10th in Munich. The devices are intended exclusively for use in Europe (except for Italy).
Production is planned to start in July 2011.
