Intelligent charging
The intelligent charging characteristics of the Active Inverter Technology can extend the service life of the battery.
The dU/dt technology actively adjusts the characteristic parameters to match the pre-programmed IUIoU charging characteristic. It detects the current charge status of the battery, which it is continuously monitoring and optimising. Once maximum values are reached, the charger is automatically switched over or switched off, thereby avoiding any unnecessary overcharging.
The digital control circuit keeps the charging current and voltage constant while charging. Any fluctuations in the mains voltage are compensated, and the battery is thus charged gently. The voltage drop on charging leads is also compensated - and charging time is reduced as a result.
Charging voltage with negligible residual ripple
Active Inverter Technology features a charging voltage with negligible residual ripple on the initial current (just a small number of AC current components that are superimposed on the DC current). The advantage: The battery heats up less and is charged more gently. Considerably less dirt accumulates on the surface.
The primary-switched-mode power electronics combined with the digital control circuit enable an excellent efficiency rating of up to 96% to be achieved. This is in a different league from the efficiency ratings achieved by conventional 50Hz chargers. The high level of efficiency results in a reduced power requirement, which in turn leads to lower energy costs. This means that the initial outlay for the battery charger is rapidly recouped.
Lighter and more portable
Active Inverter Technology incorporates the latest, compact components, which considerably reduce the dimensions of these Fronius battery chargers. Smaller and lighter: the great power density of these units enables them to be deployed in flexible ways, saving valuable storage and operational space. They can also easily be wall-mounted.
The Plug & Charge function makes these chargers quick and easy to use. Simply connect it, plug it in, and get charging.
