Interschutz 2010 with Fronius product highlight

14.07.2010

The Battery Charging Systems division can look back on the Interschutz 2010 trade fair in Leipzig with great satisfaction. On display at the six-day event was the new multi-circuit battery charging system. Fire engine manufacturer Rosenbauer has already begun to install the battery charging system and the optional FireCAN interface in its vehicles. Owing to the ever-increasing amount of electronics in special vehicles, an electronically safe battery charging system is indispensable. Fronius has the ideal solution for vehicle manufacturers and end users - the Acctiva Twin 15A.

Leipzig/Germany. Over 1350 exhibitors from 46 countries can look back with satisfaction on the important six-day trade fair for the rescue, fire prevention, disaster relief, safety and security sectors. The figure for the expected number of visitors was surpassed in spectacular fashion, with over 125,000 people viewing the 90,000 m² of exhibits.

The evergrowing numbers of electronic consumers in emergency vehicles make the role of on-board battery charging systems more and more important.

This development is good for Fronius and the Acctiva product range. The Fronius team at Interschutz presented the perfect solution for special vehicle batteries - the new, electronically safe Acctiva Twin 15A multi-circuit battery charging system.

Compact yet powerful, the battery charging system is the ideal choice for installing on board the vehicle. Two charging circuits allow batteries to be charged at the same time, while different states of charge are automatically balanced. An additional feature is FireCAN, which has been developed together with vehicle and component manufacturers to form a communication interface between the vehicle and the various components. FireCAN enables the device status and battery voltage to be determined from the battery charging system and a fault diagnosis to be carried out. The Acctiva Twin 15A with the FireCAN option was presented at a press conference held during the fair.

The six-day event provided the perfect opportunity for making useful contacts with vehicle manufacturers. Rosenbauer fire engines are already fitted with the Acctiva Twin 15A battery charging system, including the optional FireCAN interface. Other special vehicle manufacturers also showed real interest at the fair and have already taken possession of the Acctiva Twin 15A for in-house testing.

All in all a successful trade fair for the Battery Charging Systems division.
