AEO - Fronius crosses all borders!
28.07.2009
Fronius is awarded AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status following a six-month certification process.
Fronius applied for the AEO certificate (Authorized Economic Operator) in January 2009 and was awarded AEOF status by the customs authorities in Linz on 28 July 2009. The AEO certificate guarantees that all legal regulations are met in the processing and handling of goods along the entire international supply chain.
A great benefit is the accelerated customs clearance for exports and imports. With regard to the customs authorities, it ensures the dispatch and acceptance of goods along the entire international supply chain, and our customers will reap the benefit of this.
In the face of increasing globalisation and the ever-changing security situation, the World Customs Organization has created an internationally-valid conceptual framework to enable modern and effective risk management in customs administration. The European Union response was, among other things, to introduce the AEO certificate. This certificate is most beneficial to Fronius in its relations with customs authorities.
Our customers can also enjoy the following advantages of our AEO status:
- Shorter delivery times
- Priority treatment of shipments that have been selected for inspection
- EU-wide recognition of the status
- Seal of quality in international trade
"Non-stop globalisation means that the international movement of goods is becoming ever more important. We expect that being granted AEO status will simplify further the sale of our products around the world", explained Herbert Mühlböck, Logistics & Procurement Manager.
The AEO is also undergoing continuous further development. Currently being planned is the mutual recognition of the different safety initiatives (e.g. C-TPAT in the USA) on an international level.
