And the winner is… CMT (Cold-Metal-Transfer)
13.05.2008
INDUSTRIE 2008, France’s largest welding trade fair took place between the 31st March and the 4th April at the Centre d’Expositions in Paris. The highlight of the fair was receiving the INDUSTRIE trophy as an award for special innovations. The jury selected the CMT-process by Fronius as the winner, due to the innovative joining of steel with aluminium.
Fronius has made the impossible possible with the development of the CMT-Process, a MIG/MAG short-arc process which has set new standards in welding technology with its hot, cold, hot, cold characteristics. Spatter free welding and brazing for thin sheets from 0.3 mm – this certainly impressed the committee at INDUSTRIE Paris 2008.
Marie-Francoise Leveque and Guy Missiaen, representatives for Fronius France, accepted the coveted trophy on the 2nd April at a ceremony attended by numerous journalists. 23 companies were nominated and there were 5 prize winners in the categories of:
* Measures – control – components – vision

* Machine tools with digital control (distortion aspect)
