Training and education as tools for success

29.07.2009

At Fronius, training and education is an essential long-term tool. On-site service and expertise are key success factors, especially in a sector such as welding technology. The TSI Training Team was founded in January 2009 with a view to fine tuning our performance in this respect.

The four-strong training team was set up at the start of the year as part of TechSupport International. It has a wide-ranging remit to oversee the training and education of our employees, partners and clients. Under the leadership of Alfred Hartinger, trainers Dirk Altmeier, Thomas Bogner and Hans-Jürgen Leber impart their knowledge in both theory and practice.

Courses in technical applications, systems technology, technical sales support, automation and repair have been available in both German and English since January 2009. All the courses are tailored to the individual products. Split into complementary Basic, Advanced and Expert courses in each area of expertise, they demonstrate how the advantages of the power sources can be put to more effective use.

Fronius has been providing training courses for a number of years now, but the new process is much more systematic and comprehensive.
The main innovations are:

  • Preparatory courses, such as the "Introduction to Welding Technology" and the "Basics of Electronics"
  • Modular course structure for a structured approach to learning
  • Reducing the product, welding processes, welding technology and service technology seminars to just technical applications and systems technology for improved training results
  • Reduction in the number of seminars from 34 to 28
  • Additional, more specific lectures (e.g. Brenner News) and workshops (e.g. Configuration)

"We have so far received very positive feedback from delegates who have been on the courses. The structures are in place, but there are still some courses that need to be looked at and incorporated into the programme. The aim is to provide participants with the best possible training and education." explained Alfred Hartinger, team leader and trainer.
