Family Home

One of the largest private PV systems, a 9 kWp device, can be found on the roof of a farm in the Upper Austrian district of Gmunden. The solar system meets the entire electricity needs of the family of six. The total heating requirement is met by a log-fired system, fuelled by wood sourced from the farm site. Hot water is provided during the summer months by an additional 10 m2 solar thermal matrix next to the PV modules on the roof.
