National Environmental and Energy Technology award for HyLOG
02/04/2008
The prize wants to present Austrian environmental and energy technology companies and their solutions.
The Fronius HyLOG project has now received the National Environmental and Energy Technology Award. The aim of the project is to convert the material transport system at Sattledt from batteries to fuel cell drives. The hydrogen required is generated on site by a photovoltaic system. There are no emissions. HyLOG is a model for sustainable power supplies for industrial premises. From a commercial standpoint, the technology is of particular interest for ground conveyors (forklifts), the world’s biggest market for electric vehicles.
The prizes were awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment, in five categories at the opening of the new international trade fair for environmental technology and renewable energy. The prize wants to present Austrian environmental and energy technology companies and their solutions.
Fronius and the project HyLOG (Hydrogen powered Logistic System) has yet received the Austrian Solar Prize and the Energy Globe Austria.
