Job Description

FLSA Status: Exempt


FRONIUS USA, a world leader in electronics for solar energy systems is currently looking for an East Coast Regional Sales Manager. This position will become part of an international team responsible for the sales of Fronius solar inverters in the United States. The successful candidate will service our customers on the East Coast. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the introduction and promotion of Fronius solar products in the US, development of sales channels, customer acquisition and retention, sales training, quotations, sales, trade shows and coordination with sales, marketing and technical services divisions of Fronius Solar in the US.  Significant travel is required.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Two or four year college degree, preferably in sales, marketing, engineering or equivalent.
  • Three years technical sales, product line management or marketing experience, preferably in the photovoltaics, power electronics or related industry
  • Valid Passport, with the desire and ability to travel throughout the USA and overseas
  • Excellent written, verbal, negotiation presentation and public speaking skills
  • Self-starter, self motivated. Capable of working in a remote office, setting goals, objectives and successfully implementing plans without close supervision or direction
  • Strong technical understanding of Solar Power systems and inverter technologies will be a significant asset


Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Identification, understanding and outreach of target customers
  • Promoting and expanding the reputation of Fronius in the PV market within the USA
  • Managing all sales inquiries into our headquarters and responding to customer inquiries or referring the call to the appropriate department or salesperson
  • Managing the solar customer database at headquarters
  • Conducting initial and regular visits to customers
  • Customer support: product availability, pricing, quotations, special situations, information for bids, sales training, and direction to data available on the web, etc…
  • Regular monitoring of customer inventory to ensure that it matches up with requirements and commitments
  • Prospecting and acquisition of new customers in accordance with sales strategies
  • Securing orders to meet and, ideally exceed objectives and sales goals
  • Obtaining and providing (internally) all customer data needed to process customer orders
  • Product presentations and trainings to customers together with Applications Engineer initially and progressing to being capable of doing basic technical presentations without the assistance of an Applications Engineer 
  • Coordination and attendance of trade fairs and exhibitions
  • Continuous market research and feedback on: new products, new features, prices, new customer demands, customer satisfaction, competition, etc…
  • Assistance with the development of new sales literature, ads, training materials, press releases, etc as requested by management
  • Gather and maintain contact and customers database
  • Willingness and initiative to take responsibility and make it happen!

  • Must be able to clearly, concisely and effectively write correspondence and sales information
  • Able to effectively and positively deal with challenges


Sales and Management Abilities

  • Outstanding team player with ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Excellent time management skills required to manage a large and diverse range of customers (manufacturers, distributors, developers, etc.)
  • Convey new and useful information to team members within Fronius 
  • Represent Fronius professionally with the goal of long-term partnerships
  • Future potential to lead a group of people as the company continues to expand 

 

General Business Understanding

  • Desire to achieve while understanding, accepting and working with the available resources
  • Identifies, understands and implements Fronius principles


Business Skills Required 

  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook 
  • Proficient in the use of the Web and other resources for research and education/learning
  • Proficient in the use of e-mail, and CRM software 
  • Excellent telephone etiquette


Contractual Responsibility

• Making offers within the defined scope of responsibility and personal limits
• Communicating and obtaining authorization on contracts/offers that exceed your personal limits


Location: East Coast or Brighton, Michigan, Fronius headquarters
