Fronius hosted AWS Student Scholarship Night

Fronius USA LLC was pleased to host the annual AWS Technical Meeting and Student Scholarship Night

Fronius USA, LLC was proud to sponsor the 33rd annual American Wedling Society (AWS) Student scholarship night and techical meeting. The event was held at the Fronius Brighton offices with 161 people attending.

Every year AWS gives away scholarships to Michigan students enrolled in a welding or welding related program at a college or university in the state of Michigan.The 28 recipients of the 2008-2009 scholarships will be attending Michigan Technologicial University or Ferris State University. The AWS Detroit Section is proud to say that this year they were able to award scholarships totaling $36,500.00

Many of these students along with facility members attended this years even to receive recognition of these awards. Other people attending were customers of Fronius as well as people new to the company.

Attendees were treated to a buffet dinner as well as some authentic Austrian music from a two man Austrian band that played at the event. Franz Dietachmair, Managing Director of Fronius USA, mentioned in his presentation that he "always gets a little home sick" when he hears that music.

After the awards and presentations, guests were treated to a variety of technical demonstrations of Fronius core technologies. There were 5 live welding stations highlighting Delta Spot, Twin, CMT, Plasma and Manual Welding. Also available were Arc Data Monitoring Demonstrations as well as Solar and Service Department tours.
