PV system designers often are confronted with a difficult environment. Rooftops with different orientations or partial shading have to be handled with critical examination. Today, many installers choose traditional Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) such as power optimizers or micro-inverters. However, they have significant downsides, such as high cost and installation hassles. Fronius believes it’s time for a new generation of DC optimization.
Fronius is working with Maxim Integrated to offer such a new generation of DC optimization. Maxim Integrated is a global multi-billion dollar company based in San Jose, CA that designs, manufactures, and sells integrated circuits for industrial, automotive, healthcare, communications, consumer electronics, computing and solar. Maxim has been a chipset supplier for Fronius welding devices for many years.
