Charge and save with the power of the sun
Charging your EV at home can be significantly more affordable than filling up with petrol. With typical EV consumption of around 18–20 kWh per 100 km and an average Australian electricity price of around 30 cents per kWh, driving 100 km costs approximately $5–$6 when charging from the grid.
If you have solar, charging becomes even more cost‑effective. Using your own excess solar energy can reduce the cost to around $0–$3 per 100 km, depending on your solar generation and electricity tariff.
In comparison, a typical petrol car using 8 L/100 km at an average price of about $1.75 per litre costs roughly $14 per 100 km. Over an average annual driving distance of 15,000 km, this can mean hundreds of dollars in savings every year.
With the Fronius Wattpilot Flex, you can maximise your solar self‑consumption, reduce charging costs, and improve the return on your solar investment, all with smart, flexible EV charging.
*Consumer‑Compliant Disclaimer: All figures are indicative only. Actual savings depend on vehicle efficiency, driving habits, solar generation, energy tariffs, and local fuel prices. Electricity and fuel prices are based on Australian national and state averages as of 2026.

Maximum sun
Your energy, your e-mobility. With the Fronius Wattpilot Flex, you can charge your electric car very economically with self-generated solar power. The PV-optimized wallbox automatically switches between 1 and 3 phases to make the best possible use of the sun's power. From 1.38 to 11 or 22 kW (depending on the version), PV surplus is optimally used. No ray of sunshine is wasted.
Thanks to intelligent charging modes, you always have the choice: Eco Mode gives priority to solar power, while Next Trip Mode ensures that exactly the right amount of energy is charged at the right time for your next trip.
If you have a PV system, Fronius Wattpilot Flex gives you a double benefit: you save on charging and also increase your own consumption - which speeds up the amortization of your PV system.
