FRONIUS Data Protection Declaration

1. Preamble

This data protection declaration is intended for all persons who visit the websites and use the services provided. This data protection declaration applies to all forms of use of our services, whether free or paid. Fronius wishes to inform you below about the data that Fronius collects and how it is used. You will also be informed that our websites collect (personal) data from you and save it electronically. All data will be stored and processed by us in compliance with the applicable legal regulations on data protection and security of the Republic of Austria. 2. Definitions of terms

2.1 Non-personal data

2.1.1 Our websites can be visited at any time when they are available, without having to provide your personal information. Fronius stores the following data without reference to persons:

a) Browser type and version

b) Operating system 

c) Referrer URL (the specific web page you visited)

d) Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address)

e) Date and time of the server request

f) Device

2.1.2 This data is evaluated and used by Fronius or a third party to improve our offerings (e.g. for research, data analysis, etc.). Your identification is not possible based on this data.

2.1.3 Fronius also collects and stores the data listed in section 2.1.1 from registered users, whereby use according to section 2.1.2 takes place exclusively in an anonymised form. Your identification by any third parties is no longer possible based on this data.

2.1.4 From the use of FRONIUS websites (e.g. solarweb) by registered or activated users, Fronius also collects non-personal (anonymised) data. This data is stored in a form that does not allow specific persons to be identified. Non-personal data may be collected, used, distributed or disclosed by Fronius for any purpose. Example: Fronius uses aggregated data from all plants in a specific region to determine the duration and intensity of solar radiation in this region. The region is defined so broadly as to exclude the possibility of identifying any person or their installation. Fronius is also entitled to disclose such aggregated data to third parties.

2.2 Personal data

2.2.1 A reference to your person or to the respective user can be made by Fronius only after registration has been completed. Registration requires the voluntary disclosure of your personal data. In this context, our websites collect and store the following data:

a) User data: Salutation, first name, surname, company, street, house number, postal code, city, state, country, time zone, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, birthday, customer number, username, password
b) Installation data: Name, installation identifier, commissioning date/time, company, street, house number, postal code, city, province, country, time zone, degree of latitude, degree of longitude, altitude, installation performance, manufacturer, module type, installation description, installation image
c) Operator/customer data: Salutation, first name, surname, company, street, house number, postal code, city, state, country, time zone, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, customer number, VAT identification number
d) Connection data: Data according to section 2.1.1

2.2.2 Fronius collects the personal data for the provision of the desired services and the execution of contracts, but also for internal purposes, for example to improve our services and products (e.g. data analysis, research etc.) or to contact you independently of the contract execution.

2.2.3 All personal data is handled with strict confidentiality by Fronius and is not disclosed to third parties without your express consent.

2.2.4 Without your consent, Fronius will only collect, process or utilise your personal inventory and usage data to the extent that this is necessary for the execution of the contractual relationship and for the use and billing of electronic information and communication services.

2.2.5 Disclosure by Fronius to third parties is permitted only in exceptional cases, insofar as there is a legal obligation to do so. This applies, for example, to the authorities.

2.2.6 Fronius is entitled, in exceptional cases, to disclose personal data to an online payment system. However, this applies only to the extent that the data is necessary for the proper execution of the payment process.

2.2.7 After registration, your username is visible to other members. In addition, you can share or publish additional data about your profile or installation and make it visible to other members. Within your profile, you have the option to adjust the extent to which your data is published by means of appropriate settings. It is at your sole discretion to decide which of this data will be released or published for other users and to what extent. This is explained in more detail on the websites of the service concerned.

2.2.8 If we use data for a purpose which requires your consent according to the legal requirements, we will ask you to provide your express consent. Your consent is documented in accordance with the data protection regulations. You may later revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future and/or disagree with the future use of your data for purposes of advertising, market research and opinion research. 3. Use of cookies

3.1 This website uses software to analyse the use of the website. By evaluating this data, valuable insights can be gained about the needs of users. These insights help to further improve our quality of the service.

3.2 In this context, so-called cookies are also used. Cookies are text files which are stored on the computers of visitors to the website, thus allowing the visitors to be identified anonymously. Cookies can be refused or deleted in general by means of appropriate browser settings.

4. Google Analytics: data protection and possibility of refusal

4.1. This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files which are stored on your computer which allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, in the case of the activation of IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be abbreviated in advance by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other Contracting States of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there only in exceptional cases. You may revoke your consent to the storage of the data and the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time.

6. Right of access and deletion

6.1 You have the right to the free access, correction, blocking and, if necessary, deletion of your stored data at any time. Please contact us or send us your request by mail, e-mail or fax to the address below. Your stored personal data is deleted if you revoke your consent to the storage, if your information is no longer necessary for the purpose of the storage, or if the storage of your information is prohibited for other legal reasons. However, the deletion of your data must be considered reasonable by Fronius.
