Fronius well represented in Thailand
The story is similar outside Thailand, with energy consumption figures reflected right across South-east Asia. Strong economic growth in the region combined with high electricity consumption are also giving rise to ambitious renewable energy objectives in the other Southeast Asian nations. These factors are also key to Fronius’ drive to step up its activities and presence in the region: with our subsidiary in Thailand (Business Unit Welding Technologies) and our local technical advisor, Maidur Rahman Talukder, we are on hand to provide rapid support for our customers and are also able to place greater focus on cultivating this market.
Green light for renewables from Thailand’s highest office
Thailand’s government has set ambitious targets for the coming years to develop renewable energy sources. The aim is to achieve a solar energy capacity of 6 GW by 2036. For this reason alone, it is a must for many public buildings to install a photovoltaic system. An example of this is the Benjamarachutit School in Nakhon Si Thammarat, which had a 277 kWp PV system installed by a local Fronius Service Partner in summer 2018. Due to their low weight, compact size and ingenious SnapINverter mounting system, Fronius devices can be installed in no time, and can be quickly restored to working order if servicing is required. These advantages have a particularly noticeable effect in public buildings, as the regular activities of the school are not remotely affected or disrupted.
Fronius’ presence in Asia – local support is faster
Fronius has been operating in Asia for ten years, offering ideal solutions in the rooftop installation segment. Fronius’ unique PC board replacement technology makes it easy for local installers to replace individual inverter components should servicing ever be required. Rather than dismantling the whole device, our trained local Fronius Service Partners only need to replace the defective part. There are many advantages to this: firstly, customs operations in Asia are often long-winded and can also be costly. As our Fronius Service Partners have a local supply of replacement components, service call-outs are significantly quicker and the system can be reconnected to the grid and start generating income again after just one visit. Secondly, both land and sea journeys are long and, at times, difficult. Thanks to the PC board replacement technology, these transport problems are drastically reduced and the overall costs of the PV system turn a profit more quickly.
Nine new Fronius Service Partners in Thailand
On 14 August 2018, more than 50 participants from six countries took the opportunity to visit our Business Unit Perfect Welding subsidiary in Thailand. This open house event also included intensive training for the future Fronius Service Partners. A total of nine companies qualified as Fronius Service Partners and are now authorised to carry out component replacements on site. The two-day practical training courses are ideal for equipping local installers to provide customers with in-depth advice.
Sophisticated technology, high quality and premium local service – our promise to the market
Our Asian customers place particular value on a number of factors. Firstly, Fronius is synonymous with high quality. Our products must undergo extremely stringent endurance tests, meaning failures in the field are a rarity. Our technologies are also ideal for rooftop installations, both for home and commercial use. Fronius also meets all requirements in the private sector. We have a local expert in place, in the shape of our technical advisor, Maidur Rahman Talukder. And, to top it all off, our Fronius Service Partners are on hand to provide competent local support.
