Firmware Updates

Here you can find the lastest firmware versions for Fronius products. Firmware updates of current inverters can be carried out remotely via Fronius Solar.web or, if the system is not set up for online monitoring, directy at the inverter. Firmware updates of older products have to be carried out directly at the device. Our updates contain regular bugfixes and new software features.

Easy online update in Fronius Solar.web:

In Solar.web under "Settings - Components" you can always download the latest software for your GEN24.

Offline update:

2. Connect to the user interface of the inverter:

Fronius SnapINverters have a Fronius Datamanager 2.0 integrated by default. The inverter and the Datamanager are updated separately. The only exception is the Symo Hybrid, where the inverter and its Hybridmanager are updated together in one go.

Firmware update via Fronius Solar.web

On Solar.web under "Settings - Components" you can remotely start the latest firmware update of your SnapINverter and Datamanager.

Local update of a Fronius SnapINverter via USB:

Download the update file here.
Copy the froXXXXX.upd file onto an empty USB flash drive. The flash drive must be formatted with FAT32.
Connect the flash drive to the USB port of the inverter. Note: Remove the lower, grey cover of the inverter.
Start the update via the inverter display under "Setup" - "USB" - "Software Update".
The currently installed firmware version and the new firmware version of the inverter will appear. Press Enter (far right key) again to start the firmware update.

Local update of a Fronius Datamanager via LAN

Download the update file here.
Open the downloaded file by right-clicking it and selecting "Run as administrator". A window opens with the note "ftp-server is running."
Set the IP switch on the Datamanager to position A (small DIP switch by the 4 LEDs).
Connect your PC / laptop to the SnapINverter (Datamanager) using a network cable (CAT5 or higher).
Enter the following IP address in the address bar of your browser (e.g. Google Chrome), to access the user interface: “169.254.0.180”.
Disable the firewall and anti-virus software of your PC / laptop.
On the user interface, go to "Firmware update" and select "Update via LAN".
Click on "Run update" and confirm the process.

Fronius Solar.Update/Datamanager

Fronius Symo Hybrid

The local update of the Symo Hybrid is only available up to version 1.8.2-1. For any further updates the Symo Hybrid must be connected to the internet and updated remotely via Fronius Solar.web.

Fronius Solar.Update/Energy Package

A firmware update of the Ohmpilot can only be carried out via Solar.web. On Solar.web under "Settings" - "Components" you can start the latest firmware update of your Ohmpilot.

A firmware update of the Wattpilot can only be carried out via the Solar.wattpilot app for Android and iOS.

The package 'Fronius Solar.update/Agilo' contains the latest software for Fronius Agilo inverters. It can be executed via Fronius Solar.Service software.

We recommend reloading the country setup of the inverter (e.g. Setup DE, Setup ES, etc.) after a firmware update to apply all changes to the memory. Please consider that reloading the country setup sets all grid parameters to their default values. If any individual parameters, that differ from the national norm, are required, you have to make these changes again manually via the inverter display.

Fronius Solar.Update/Agilo

Fronius IG

The package 'Fronius Solar.update/IG' contains the latest software for all inverters of the Fronius IG series. The update requires a laptop with Windows 7 operating system or older.

Please note that this update is NOT suitable for US devices!

Fronius IG TL

The package 'USB Update Fronius IG TL' contains the latest firmware for all inverters of the Fronius IG TL series. It can be executed via USB flash drive.

Fronius IG Plus / CL

The package 'Fronius Solar.update/IG Plus/CL' contains the latest software for all inverters of the Fronius IG Plus and Fronius CL series. The update requires a laptop with Windows 7 operating system or older.

Please note that this update is NOT applicable for US-devices!

Fronius Datalogger Finder

The Fronius Datalogger Finder finds all Datalogger/Datamanagers in a network and connects to the local web interface.

Fronius Solar.access

The Fronius Solar.Access software was used to monitor and parameterise the older generation of data loggers or inverters. The software is no longer maintained and is no longer compatible with new PC operating systems. All new Fronius products are configured via web browser and visualised in the Fronius Solar.web portal.

Fronius Solar.service

The Fronius Solar.Service software was used in the older generations of data loggers or inverters as an analysis tool and for parameterisation. This software is currently only required for configuring a Fronius Sensor Card/Box or a Fronius String Box.

The current page does not exist in the target language.
