Working at Fronius we don't dream of the future. We create it.

Where your energy makes an impact

Fronius USA: Local roots – global network

Headquartered in Portage, Indiana, and with 5 additional satellite offices across the country, plus a few home based employees, Fronius USA fosters a culture of sustainability, flexibility and responsibility. We enjoy a relaxed and sociable working environment where everybody is respected for not only their skills and abilities but also their opinions and experiences.Fronius has evolved from its small beginnings as a family company into an international organisation. Our global workforce now comprises of more than 5400 professionals with 34 subsidiaries and sales representatives in more than 60 countries worldwide. Our global presence means that we have a wide-ranging, international working environment, one that offers opportunities to take up positions abroad.

Fronius draws on the energy of its highly skilled employees to create a bright future for all. We are particularly proud of our research culture and continue to invest in developing leading-edge technology. Creating the perfect weld seam, generating efficient solar energy and charging batteries are at the heart of everything we do.

Working on sustainable solutions is what unites us and drives us forward. We guarantee that the products we develop will still be able to be repaired well into the future. We’re making a major contribution to the green energy revolution and have every reason to be proud of our products, developments and services.

Our Culture

A business can only achieve a minimal amount of success without a healthy corporate culture. That’s why we are constantly striving to maintain a positive and healthy work atmosphere, it’s the Fronius Way.

Thinking ahead

Our teams are always thinking outside the box, diligently transforming visions into solutions. We work with several partners worldwide to deliver the products of tomorrow.

Our employees let their actions and work speak for themselves. We build on the expertise of our technical teams and acknowledge that even though mistakes happen, they’re an excellent way of learning. New employees quickly feel at home at Fronius, as they’re welcomed with open arms into the Fronius family.

Our products serve customers all over the world, an outcome that’s achieved through close collaboration between all our departments. We’re a family-owned company, so we’re constantly thinking in terms of the next generation. We want sustainability to be at the core of our business well into the future, so we use our resources wisely.

As a family business we are incredibly people-focused. To make sure that newcomers settle into their roles quickly we ensure they familiarize themselves with Fronius. They also witness the personal side of the company and develop an important insight into the working and corporate structure of their new employer. Our employees are part of the team from day 1, which is why the company's management likes to personally greet every new recruit. After all, as a family company, it's a principle we stand for.
We deliberately take our time when filling vacancies. Whether a new employee or someone joining the management team, in any department, new team members must also be a good fit. Personal chemistry is just as important as technical expertise. It’s also vital to be curious, have the ability to think outside the box and want to put your energy to good use.

As a family business, we place a great deal of emphasis on our strong corporate culture. In addition to multiple rounds of interviews and an assessment of your potential, we also make use of trial periods. Both parties get to know each other properly under real working conditions – a good way of quickly finding out whether there is a good match.
Being a manager demands total commitment, especially when operating on an international stage. Fronius therefore devotes plenty of time to its senior staff, giving them the space to develop their own ideas and sharing their excitement whenever they solve a challenging problem. The evidence speaks for itself: the most recent survey of our senior managers revealed that over 90% were satisfied or very satisfied with their job.

Other possible reasons for this remarkable feedback? Our open information policy makes everyday management more straightforward, while our management development programme focuses on developing the skills of our senior staff. Last but not least, as a family-run company we treat each other in a more respectful and approachable manner.

Look the part, express yourself well, and know what you’re talking about. Tips to applicants are frequently very general in nature and don’t really give a clear picture. We at Fronius do things differently: “Where your energy makes a difference” is not only a prominent slogan in our job descriptions, it’s also a very important principle in a much broader sense.

We always say to be yourself. Demonstrate to us that you can think outside the box and think about how you can show us the impact your energy will have by sharing skills, knowledge and experience that you’ve acquired in your private life or at work.

Marc Inniss, Technical Sales Advisor, Solar Energy

"Upon arriving at Fronius, after leaving home in Barbados, I was made to feel immediately welcome as if I’d been there for years. The education I received and the community type atmosphere enabled me to fit right in and hit the ground running. After a year and a half I was given the opportunity to change roles in Tech Support and impact another module of the business structure in the Technical Sales area. I have been completely grateful for the opportunity given and fortunate to have such a wonderful team to call my colleagues and friends. I look forward to being a part of the Fronius culture for years to come as our future continues to shine brighter." #24hoursofsun

Paul Bui, Technical sales advisor northeast, solar energy

"I was hired into Fronius at the young age of 18 years old, straight out of High School. I barely understood solar, but I understood electronics and had the will to learn more. One thing I have learned from Fronius is growth, both personal and professional growth. Fronius has changed me from an 18 year old young adolescent to a 24 year old Solar professional, and I have never been so grateful for the numerous opportunities of professional and personal growth."

Melissa Parker, Sales Manager Rental & Online Sales, Perfect Welding

"I love working for Fronius. It has been a great company to grow with both personally and professionally. Over the past 10 years I have been encouraged and challenged through various positions and look forward to continuing this for years to come!"

Stephanie Welch, PR & Events Manager, Perfect Welding

"When I started working for Fronius USA in 2005 I had no idea 14 years later I would still be here. They have always fostered my goals and ambitions. The nurturing environment is the reason I am still here today. Longevity from employees says a lot about a company. Of course, reliable welding products are important in our industry, and we have that, but the dedication and expertise from our team is what I believe sets us apart. Their ability to support customers and solve problems is shown in everything they do. People make all the difference."

Wesley Doneth, Regional Sales Manager North East, Perfect Welding

"I started with Fronius USA in 2008 as a Tech Support Manager when Gerald Obritzberger was promoted to Director of Sales for Perfect Welding. During the next several years our team supported some large projects like the launch of Tesla Model S using our Arc Welding and Resistance Welding Technology.  In 2012 Fronius made the decision to move the headquarters to Portage, IN as part of a strategy to grow the Solar inverter business and I assisted with the transition to the new headquarters. During that tough time I transitioned the TSN team and supported RCN for 6 months while the move was taking place. Due to my family situation I did not move to Portage and Shaun Relyea became the TSN manager. I moved into a sales position for Michigan and Indiana for the Northeast Region. In July 2016 I was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast Region and have worked hard to develop a strong motivated team. My focus on product, technology and building customer relationships is core to my daily tasks and why I believe our team achieves the success we accomplish each year. The different roles I have held with Fronius USA has enabled me to work with a wide range of colleagues here and at Fronius International. Creating relationships both with customers and colleagues is critical to our success and I am glad to see our focus on the Customer Intimacy strategy."
