IFOY Award Night ceremony at the Hofburg Vienna

The winners of the International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Awards 2019 have been announced; the renowned logistics prize was given out at a ceremony held on 26 April at the Hofburg Vienna. More than 600 guests met at the former Habsburg residence, among them Germany’s Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer and the Austrian State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior, Karoline Edtstadler.

Once again this year, Fronius Perfect Charging supported the IFOY Award as the official technology partner, in order to connect with other pioneers in the industry and come together to promote and exploit the innovative potential of intralogistics. During the test days from 1 to 8 March, the most promising trucks and solutions were put through their paces by international journalists and an expert jury. This also gave the participants the opportunity to make use of Fronius’ energy-efficient and economical battery charging technology.

The 15 nominees included companies such as Jungheinrich, Hubtex, Combilift, Still and UniCarriers. After a whole week of lifting, driving, measuring, storing and discussions in the jury meetings, the award finalists were finally chosen. There were traditional scenes of celebration from the winners when the six award presenters announced the carefully guarded secrets of who had won each category in the Great Ballroom at the Hofburg Vienna. As one of the award presenters, Herbert Mühlböck, Member of the Management Board at Fronius, handed over the award for the ‘Counter Balanced Truck’ category to UniCarriers Europe for developing the TX3 3-wheel.

The IFOY Awards will return once more in 2020. Providers of products and system solutions will be able to apply with their latest products and warehouse projects via the entrant portal in the next few weeks. Further information can be found at www.ifoy.org
