The free-standing installation is located in Sambir in the Lviv province. The projected annual yield of the solar station is some 5,330 Megawatt hours, saving 2,823 tonnes of CO2. To achieve these figures, Eco-Optima is trusting in solar technology from Fronius Solar Energy and has installed a total of 162 Fronius Eco inverters in Sambir. Thanks to its low weight of less than 40 kilograms and its SnapINverter mounting system, the transformerless unit could be installed quickly and easily in an outdoor environment. Parts can also be replaced quickly on location.
A particular advantage of the Fronius Eco is that it meets protection class IP 66, meaning that the inverter is completely dust-tight and is protected against strong jets of water. This makes it ideally suited for use both indoors and outdoors. Not only are string collection boxes no longer necessary with the Fronius Eco due to the integrated all-pole string fuse holders, but the optionally available overvoltage protection is similarly superfluous.
The Fronius Eco inverters are also fitted with several inputs and outputs and can be equipped with WLAN and Ethernet interfaces as required, allowing them to be quickly and easily connected to third-party components. This further contributes to the installation’s future-proof qualities: via these interfaces, Eco-Optima has the option of upgrading the inverters with new features at any time. This also means that the Fronius Eco is Smart Grid Ready. Furthermore, the Fronius inverters boast an integrated data communication feature, meaning they can communicate with and relay data to the decentralised producer (for example, output and voltage). They can also independently activate intelligent grid-supporting functions as required. This increases the capacity of the grid, contributes to grid stability and optimises the efficiency of the entire installation.
