Fronius Fortis: The new generation of manual MIG/MAG welding

Powerful, flexible, and equipped for a wide range of applications: with the new Fortis series, we are launching an innovative solution for manual MIG/MAG welding.  Developed for the requirements of small and medium-sized companies, the Fortis combines robust technology, intuitive operation, and maximum connectivity.

The device series covers a wide power range from 270 to 500 A and is available both as a compact all-in-one system and as a split version with an external wirefeeder. The Fortis Duo variant, which combines two wire spools and welding torches in one device, provides even more versatility—ideal for frequently changing tasks. The Fortis XT extended version impresses with its high energy efficiency, worldwide mains voltage compatibility, and energy savings of up to 16%. It is an all-rounder for three-phase mains voltages from 200 to 600 V and in single-phase operation up to max. 320 A including CEL mode. 

With up to 240 optimized characteristics for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, the Fortis always delivers reliable results—even for demanding applications such as vertical-up seams or thin sheet metal joints—especially in combination with the Pulse function. All variants with multiprocess capability (MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA) also offer flexible and future-proof solutions for a wide range of welding tasks.

The new operating concept is an absolute highlight. A 7" color display with dynamic visualizations, multilingual menu (over 30 languages), and an integrated welding parameter wizard enable simple and error-free operation—even for less experienced users.

With WiFi and Bluetooth as standard, the devices can be fully integrated into our digital Fronius world. For complete documentation, user management, and maximum convenience, the devices are compatible with WeldCube Air, WeldCube Premium, Central User Management, and the high-end Vizor Connect welding helmet.

We are also setting new standards in terms of sustainability: the housing is made of 53% recycled aluminum, which significantly reduces the amount of plastic. The devices are durable, easy to maintain, and specially designed and extensively tested for tough use in harsh conditions.
