SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN

Welcome to the future of welding:

the new Fortis product series

Fortis
When the doors to SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN open in Essen on September 15, welding professionals arriving from around the world will find a very special highlight waiting for them: Fortis, a completely new generation of MIG/MAG welding machines from Fronius. Developed to meet modern manufacturing requirements, Fortis is ready to set completely new standards in terms of flexibility, connectivity, and ease of use.
With our new Fortis series, we are presenting an extremely versatile solution for high-quality manual MIG/MAG welding. It combines robust technology, intuitive operation, and maximum connectivity to set new standards in the metalworking industry.

Different variants, one goal: maximum efficiency every day of the week

The Fortis product range comprises several variants to cover a wide range of applications:

  • Fortis: The compact all-in-one system with built-in wirefeeder, optional water cooling, up to 500 A output, and multiprocess capability. Ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises that value space-saving, powerful, and versatile solutions.

  • Fortis XT: The international version for mains voltages from 200 to 600 V. It is generator-compatible, suitable for single-phase use, supports CEL mode, and offers energy savings of up to 16% with an improved power factor—perfect for use around the world.

  • Fortis Duo: Two wirefeeders—one integrated in the welding machine, the other external—allow for quick changes between materials or wire diameters. No need for retooling, no wasted time. Ideal for contract manufacturers, steel construction, or assembly work with frequent changes from task to task.
With the Fortis Duo, welders can easily switch between different materials or wire diameters in a single step with no retooling needed. This saves an enormous amount of time and is ideal when you’re constantly changing from task to task.

The new operating concept—intuitive, intelligent, individual

One highlight of the Fortis is our fresh take on the operating concept. The 7-inch color display with dynamic visualizations, self-explanatory graphics, and a multilingual menu (with over 30 languages) makes these models especially intuitive—even for less experienced users. Three robust rotary and push buttons allow precise adjustments and parameter selection, even when wearing welding gloves. All important working and welding parameters are also visible on the first menu level.

An especially clever feature is the integrated welding parameter wizard, which guides the welder to the ideal setting in just a few steps, leading to fewer errors, less downtime, and greater efficiency and quality in production.

Multiprocess—ready for any challenge

MIG/MAG, TIG, or MMA? The Fortis 270 A and 320 A compact come equipped with multiprocess functionality as standard, while multiprocess is available as an option for the 400 A and 500 A compact models. Multiprocess functionality allows the machines to handle all common welding processes and deliver the highest quality results. With up to 240 welding characteristics for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, Fortis guarantees reliable results—even in demanding applications such as vertical-up seams, root passes, or thin sheet metal joints.

Digitally networked

Equipped with WiFi and Bluetooth as standard, Fortis can be seamlessly integrated into the Fronius tool landscape. It can also be used in digital manufacturing processes thanks to compatibility with WeldCube Air, WeldCube Premium, WeldCube Navigator, or Central User Management. The innovative Vizor Connect welding helmet can be connected wirelessly and ensures maximum comfort and protection. NFC readers and wireless remote controls are also available as options.

Designed for sustainability—built to last

We are also setting a new Fronius standard in terms of resource conservation with the Fortis. The housing is made of over 50% recycled aluminum and the plastic content has been significantly reduced. The devices are robust, easy to maintain, and designed for heavy-duty industrial use. Thanks to optimized packaging and logistics, up to three “ready-to-weld” systems now fit on a single Euro pallet, saving both resources and transportation costs!

Experience Fortis live—and win!

Visitors to SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025 will have the exclusive opportunity to witness our Fortis live for the first time in Europe. It will be available to test in person for a first-hand experience of the new user-friendly design and exceptional performance. Our experts will run regular demos to share insights into the technology and answer your questions. Take this opportunity to visit the Fronius stand and see for yourself how easy modern welding can be with the Fronius Fortis.

And the best thing is: At our exhibition stand you’ll have the chance to win a brand new Fortis 270 A!
