Fronius Fortis—flexible, networked, powerful
We presented the new Fortis welding machine series, an extremely versatile solution for high-quality manual MIG/MAG welding. The series sets new standards by combining robust technology, intuitive operation, and maximum connectivity. Visitors from small and medium-sized companies with diverse welding requirements in particular showed great interest in the future-ready Fortis.
Technological innovation: Velocity Assistant
We also presented the Velocity Assistant for manual MIG/MAG welding (or Velo for short) for the first time. This innovative system impresses with assisted torch guidance, constant welding speeds, and perfect seams, while reducing physical strain on the welder. For the first time it is now possible to control welding speed during manual welding. Depending on the application, speeds of up to 200 cm per minute are possible, to the astonishment of the assembled visitors many of whom drew comparisons with robots.
20 years of precision with CMT
Another highlight was the 20th anniversary of Cold Metal Transfer. CMT is the most stable MIG/MAG welding process and continues to impress with its unrivaled precision as well as practically spatter-free results. CMT represents a milestone in welding technology and is now an indispensable part of the toolkit for many industries. It also enabled a number of technologies for the first time. Our wealth of experience built up over many years is constantly being used to develop even more specific applications that are optimized to meet customer requirements.
Showcasing our portfolio
A portfolio of new products were showcased on the rest of the stand, underlining our expertise as a full-service provider. There was also a focus on training and further development for welders. Welding professionals attending the fair got to see the Welducation Simulator in action, and signaled their approval in the public vote giving the Simulator the IF Digital Award (silver).

Our showing at the trade fair once again confirms our position as the international technology leader and demonstrated that we are continuing to drive the industry forward.
