Velocity Assistant: guided welding for perfect results

With the new Velocity Assistant, or Velo for short, we are taking manual MIG/MAG welding to a whole new level. Thanks to assisted torch guidance, our innovative system takes the strain out of welding and delivers a constant welding speed and perfectly reproducible welds. All of which makes Velo ideal for long, precise seams—in sectors such as commercial transportation, heavy-duty machinery, steel and mechanical engineering. Velo is equally suitable for welding jobs on thin sheets to thick, in steel, CrNi, or high-strength steel.

A quantum leap in manual welding

It all comes down to what we call the Velo wire—a second wire that works entirely without an arc or additional gas feed. This wire “pushes” the torch forward along the seam edge at exactly the set travel speed, while keeping the distance between the workpiece and the contact tip constant. The result is perfect manual welds, produced at unprecedented speed. No special seam preparation is needed.

Velo can be quickly and easily integrated into existing TPS/i devices from 320 A and iWave Multiprocess PRO systems. All you need is the wirefeeder for the Velo wire and a suitable torch adapter, then just activate the system software. Thanks to its flexibility, the system is suitable for all positions—even for pipe welds or multi-layer applications. A large operating range is ensured through the five-meter-long Velo wire feeding system. The system can be deactivated at any time if needed and unclipped from the holder. More about Velo here
