External grid and system protection for Fronius inverters

When VDE-AR-N 4105 came into force on 1st January 2012, all new photovoltaic system installations in Germany of more than 30 kVA had to be fitted with external grid and system protection. This mechanism detects overvoltages, undervoltages and frequency deviations at the feed-in point and, if necessary, disconnects the inverter from the grid. The inverter is reconnected automatically when the grid is within the permitted limits again.
