Events

7/19/2022
Welding fumes, UV radiation, heat, and electricity: as exciting and varied as the life of a welder is, it is a life of many hazards too – hazards that require the most effective protection possible. Fronius is regarded as a pioneer in the field of welding protection and, with a wide range of innovative products and solutions, is doing all it can to make a decisive contribution to the health and comfort of all welding specialists. Representatives of the Upper Austria branch of VÖSI, the Association of Austrian Safety Engineers, were invited along to Fronius to find out how from a first-hand perspective.
Occupational safety

Welding made safe

Under the motto “Occupational safety in arc welding”, around 20 members of VÖSI spent an afternoon at the Fronius site in Wels. They were treated to a comprehensive presentation on the generation and prevention of welding fumes in the Welding Showroom, including on the question of which extraction systems are best suited to which requirements. A tour of the site and live demonstrations on how to prevent the hazards caused by arc radiation and electromagnetic fields, as well as on the possible uses of mobile extraction systems (Fronius Exento LowVac), forced-air welding helmets (Fronius Vizor Air/3X), and the fume extraction torch (Fronius Exento with Fronius Exento HighVac), rounded off an informative afternoon in the best possible way. The safety professionals from all over Upper Austria found the day to be highly engaging, which was also made clear by the numerous queries and lively exchanges with the Fronius experts.
