Expert on WAAM: Fronius at the IIW Young Professionals Conference 2018

The aim of the annual conference is to bring together international students and young researchers in the field of welding technology. The conference is a networking opportunity and establishes an awareness of the welding topics that are currently relevant to the needs of industry. It is important to the organizer to involve established industrial partners in the conference, allowing it to become a hive of dialog and information exchange.

Fronius was involved in the YPIC 2018 as a conference partner. In addition to two presentations on welding process technology, metallurgy, and the application of additive manufacturing with arcs (WAAM), Fronius led two group workshops on the subject of WAAM. Over the three conference days, 25 young professionals from Japan, Israel, Ghana, Ukraine, Germany, and other countries worked together, presented their research results, and exchanged ideas on various aspects of welding technology.
