Warranty conditions

Free warranty extension for end customers when registering a Fronius Selectiva 4.0 battery charger in power categories from 2 to 30 kW or a SelectION charger in power categories from 3 to 30 kW

These warranty conditions apply for end customers who have registered their Fronius Selectiva 4.0 or SelectION battery chargers online. Warranty coverage is for the registered device(s) only. For the purposes of this document, ‘end customers’ refers to both private consumers and commercial end users acting as the final purchasers of the device. Distributors and resellers are excluded from this extended warranty.

When the end customer registers a Fronius Selectiva 4.0 or SelectION charger, they receive a total of five years’ warranty. The warranty extension can be concluded by the end customer within a maximum of 12 months from the purchase date. Calculated from the date of the purchase contract or the invoice date (documents must be uploaded), the free warranty extension applies under the following conditions.
Only the end customer of the product is entitled to this extended warranty. Other persons have no claims.

In the event of a warranty claim (if a defect occurs), the following costs are covered for a total of five years:

  • Material: Fronius shall provide the claimant with a replacement part free of charge.
  • Transport: Fronius does not assume any shipping and transportation costs.
  • Service: Fronius shall bear the labor costs associated with removing and installing the replacement part if these services are carried out by Fronius or a third party commissioned by Fronius. Other costs such as travel expenses, assembly costs, and customs duties are not covered by Fronius.

The warranty applies exclusively to the following components of the battery charger:

  • Battery charger according to purchase contract
  • Accessories installed in the device at the factory according to the purchase contract

The following components are excluded from the warranty:

  • Software
  • Spare parts, replacement parts
  • Used devices
  • Wear parts

Fronius shall, within a reasonable period of at least 4 weeks, at its own discretion, either:

  • Replace or improve the defective item or its defective parts with a defect-free item or defect-free parts.
  • Grant the customer an appropriate price reduction.
  • Cancel the contract (unless the defect is minor).

The current General Terms and Conditions of Delivery and Payment of Fronius, which can be found on our website at www.fronius.com, shall apply. In particular, warranty claims are excluded if:

  • The installation and operating instructions provided by Fronius or to be requested by the customer have not been observed or the user has not been obliged to observe them in full or at all.
  • The installation was not carried out properly and according to standards, in particular not by contractors authorized for this purpose.
  • Repair or other work has been carried out on the delivery or service items without our consent.
  • The delivery or service item has been improperly operated or used, operated despite defective or missing protective devices, removed from the contractual territory without our consent, or used contrary to Fronius instructions or for purposes other than those intended. This also applies where defects result from foreign objects, chemical influences, overvoltage, actions of third parties, or unforeseeable circumstances.
  • Natural wear occurs.
  • Fronius has been commissioned to execute repair orders, to modify or convert the used items, or to deliver such items.
  • The customer uses our delivery items or services provided by us in conjunction with third-party or replica parts whose use has not been expressly recommended by Fronius in advance.
  • Third-party or replica parts are used.

For return transportation, devices or components must be packed in their original or equivalent packaging. Under the terms of the warranty, ownership of the defective device or defective parts is transferred to Fronius upon receipt of the replacement device.

To make a claim under the Fronius Warranty, the warranty service certificate and the invoice for the registered Fronius charger must be presented.

The burden of proof that the defect was present at the time of handover lies with the end customer for the entire period.

Fronius is entitled to use third parties to fulfill the warranty. For this purpose, Fronius is entitled to pass on the necessary data (e.g., serial number, contact details of the customer, etc.) to these third parties.   • Purpose of processing: Warranty extension
  • Legal basis: Contract and legitimate interest of the controller
  • Recipient: Exclusively the controller as well as the Fronius Group and its representatives, general agents, and sales partners
  • Transfer to third countries: To the aforementioned recipients worldwide
  • Duration/deletion: Processing and storage for the duration of the contractual relationship as well as to comply with any additional legal or statutory requirements. Subsequent full deletion
  • To be informed about personal data concerning you that is processed by us
  • To the rectification of your personal data if incorrect or incomplete
  • To restrict processing of your personal data where relevant conditions apply, such as grounds for suspecting that processing is unlawful or there is an objection to processing
  • To receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format
  • To erasure of your personal data in the event that legal grounds apply.
  • To object to the processing of personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation
  • To withdraw your consent to your personal data being processed
  • To object if you believe we are not processing your personal data legitimately. You also have the right to submit a complaint about the processing of your data to the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Wickenburggasse 8, 1080 Vienna.

This extended warranty can only be concluded in the following countries:

Austria, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom.

A warranty extension is not possible in any other country.

The extended warranty is concluded with Fronius International GmbH, based in 4643 Pettenbach, Froniusstrasse 1, Austria.

It is agreed that Austrian law shall apply. The applicability of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods as well as the Austrian Private International Law Act (IPRG) and conflict of laws rules is excluded. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Wels, Austria.
