Fronius Energy Package wins MTP Gold Medal Award

Fronius was awarded the MTP Gold Medal Award at the GreenPower trade fair in Poznań, Poland. “The MTP Gold Medal Award is one of the most prestigious prizes in Poland. We are extremely proud to have been honoured with this award, which is another acknowledgement of the flair for innovation our products demonstrate,” explains Maciej Pilinski, sales manager of the Polish Fronius Solar Energy Division.

The Fronius Energy Package received the innovation award for outstanding performance in the following areas: modernity of applied solutions in relation to world solutions, degree of innovative solutions, environmental impact, functional quality (understood as joining of usefulness and practical values), aesthetical quality and degree of accommodation to transfer of applied solutions into practical applications.

The newest Fronius Solar Energy subsidiary
Fronius Poland was founded at the beginning of 2016 and is therefore the Austrian manufacturer’s newest Solar Energy branch. “The Polish market has developed surprisingly well,” enthuses Martin Hackl, head of the Solar Energy Division at Fronius International GmbH. The subsidiary was opened with a small team of just three employees, which cultivates the market from its site in Gliwice. “It is particularly important to us to find new, well-qualified installers and to train them to become Fronius Service Partners. This will enable us to give both the installer and the PV-system owner a clear advantage,” explains Maciej Pilinski.

Fronius Energy Package increases self-consumption
The Fronius Energy Package stands for maximum self-consumption rates and maximum energy independence. Any excess solar energy can be used in an optimum manner at times when less or no energy is being generated. The storage solution has been in use for a year among customers, including the Eichschmied family from Münchsmünster in Germany.

Following an accident at work, Mr Eichschmied has spent the last 11 years in a wheelchair. While this of course has an impact on Mr Eichschmied’s general mobility, he has had a stairlift installed to allow him to move as freely as possible around his own home. This and other wheelchair-friendly installations have resulted in above-average energy costs. “Cutting the household bills was the ultimate driver behind investing in the PV system,” explains Mr Eichschmied. “We have also installed a storage unit so that, during the summer months, we can survive exclusively on the power we generate ourselves; we don’t need to purchase anything from the grid.”

The Fronius Energy Package is a customised storage solution, consisting of the Fronius Symo Hybrid inverter, the Fronius Solar Battery and the Fronius Smart Meter. “The Fronius Energy Package is a key milestone in our quest to achieve 24 hours of sun, a future in which we use 100% renewable energy,” explains Pilinski.
