The Fronius Symo is the ideal repowering inverter, as demonstrated by the 198 kWp roof-mounted system in Villanova di Camposanpiero near Padua in Italy. In November 2011 the system was equipped with inverters from another manufacturer. Right from the start these did not produce the desired yield and also did not meet the required Italian CEI standard. After just two and a half years the system owner decided to replace the existing devices with inverters from Fronius. Since July 2014, 18 Fronius Symo 10.0-3-M have been operating on the roof of the commercial enterprise to produce an annual 200 MW of clean PV power.
The conversion of the system went without a hitch. The PV system was up and running again after just one day and no new cabling was required.
“There were several reasons for choosing the Fronius Symo as the repowering inverter. The SuperFlex Design made designing the system extremely easy. Due to the IP66 protection class, the device can be safely mounted outdoors and the compact size simplifies installation,” reports the installer, Marin Alessio.
