ROHLIG SUUS Logistics
ROHLIG SUUS Logistik (RSL) is one of the largest logistics service providers in Poland. It employs around 1400 staff and generates a turnover of just under EUR 2 billion. RSL primarily operates in the areas of contract logistics; sea, air, road and rail transport; intermodal freight transport; project cargoes and customs services. The company maintains a total storage area of 200,000 m2, spread over multiple logistics centres and hubs.

Since 2013, RSL has been running a fleet of battery-operated forklift trucks for goods handling at its warehouses and cross-docking terminals. The fleet is frequently required to operate around the clock; therefore almost all forklift trucks are fitted with two batteries. The challenge is to run a fleet made up of several different types of forklift trucks and therefore powered by different batteries with varying voltages and capacities. Conventional charging technology requires batteries to be matched with a specific charger – any errors could result in costly damage to the battery.
