The Fronius Tauro product family consists of the Fronius Tauro and the Fronius Tauro ECO. Both devices are three-phase inverters for commercial PV systems, engineered to perform reliably even in demanding conditions. They enable flexible system planning in centralized and decentralized system concepts.

With their sophisticated design, active cooling and high protection class, they are ideal for outdoor use, even in extreme temperatures. The Fronius Tauro impresses with its high performance, easy installation, and maintenance-friendly design.

Planning & installation

Fronius Solar.creator is a free, flexible, and user-friendly online configuration tool for planning and designing PV systems.

Solar.creator supports you throughout all the phases of project planning and can be individually adapted to your requirements.

If you work with the PVsyst planning tool, you can easily download the required device data as an import file here to create precise simulation results.

With the Tauro Configurator, you can put together your individual Fronius Tauro Commercial inverter - perfectly matched to the requirements of your PV system. In just a few steps, you can select the right model along with your desired options and features, such as the arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) Fronius Arc Guard or 30 A string fuses. The result forms the starting point for creating quotes and orders.

System functions & integration

Fronius Solar.web

Fronius Solar.web is available in full as a desktop or app version for monitoring your Tauro inverters.

You can download the Solar.web app from your App Store and the Google Play Store on your smart device!

Feed-in limit (zero feed-in)

Dynamic power reduction can be activated on the Tauro or Tauro ECO user interface under Safety and grid regulation - Feed-in limit. This makes it possible to limit the power fed into the grid and at the same time maximize direct self-consumption.

This function can also be used for zero feed-in systems.

Note: A Fronius Smart Meter is required in order to use this.

Plant controllers & interfaces

Plant controllers are widely used in commercial PV systems and are essential in most cases. You can find more information about proven solutions with selected plant controller manufacturers in our solution sheet.

Fronius Tauro inverters have open interfaces that enable simple connection to a wide range of external components. The corresponding settings can be found directly on the user interface of the inverter under “Communication”.

Note on Modbus cabling (Fronius Smart Meter and plant controller): The Fronius Tauro has two Modbus inputs (M0 and M1), which are functionally equivalent. Both inputs can be used to connect Smart Meters and plant controllers. Please note that the terminating resistors must be set.

Smart Meter

With the Fronius Smart Meter, both the system data and the power consumption of the system can be recorded and used for intelligent energy management.

We recommend placing the Smart Meter at the feed-in point.

Further secondary meters can also be connected in order to visualize individual loads (Fronius Energy Profiling).
